Description
Two competitive Englishmen go cycling together in France. Each attempts to out-do the other on the challenging hills as they pass through rolling countryside and villages. Stopping for water in one village they are helped by an odd woman. One man witnesses a grotesque scene in the old woman's cellar but keeps the information from his colleague, hoping to take revenge on him for having beaten him on the last hill. Later he discovers the cause of the other man's steely determination and begins to regret his vindictive trick, but he is too late.
