Sam and Roger are two orphaned brothers who dream of being adopted. But, as the saying goes, "be careful what you wish for!" The boys' dream comes true in an unexpected way when a mysterious dog-faced man adopts them in the middle of the night and within minutes they find themselves in ancient Egypt! That's when their lives turn upside-down.

Sam and Roger are swept across time to help the Egyptian gods solve the murder of Thutmoses II, a pharaoh who died under mysterious circumstances. In return for their services, the boys will receive one wish which they can use to get anything they want. However, the boys will have to overcome a murderous god with a seriously evil alter-ego; a malicious fire demoness with an army of serpentine warriors at her disposal; a horde of deadly sphinx; and a diabolical traitor, posing as one of their closest allies, to earn their prize. And as a simple murder deepens into a chaotic power struggle among the Egyptian gods, Sam and Roger realize there is more at stake than getting their wish. If they fail, then all of humanity will fall to the mercy of an all-powerful god, a demoness, and a literal killing machine.
