Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, hat Schulamit Meixner zahlreiche öffentliche und private Archive und viele verstreute Quellen eingesehen und ausgewertet sowie fast 100 Interviews geführt. Ihr Befund ist die erste umfassende Darstellung des jüdischen Bildungswesens in Wien nach der Schoa.

From the very beginning the systematic extermination of Jewish life in Vienna by the Nazis also focused on the manifold Jewish school and education system. It took decades until a flourishing school system could be reestablished. Can we speak of a revival, of continuity after serious fractures? Was it a cold start followed by a painful reconstruction? To what extent did the government support the establishment of Jewish schools? In order to answer these questions, Schulamit Meixner examined and evaluated both numerous public and private archives as well as many scattered sources. In addition, almost 100 interviews were conducted. Her findings are the first comprehensive presentation of the Jewish education system in Vienna after the Shoah.
