Florida's Forgotten Coast, located on the state's Panhandle coastline, is cherished for its undeveloped, uncrowded, and pristine beaches, marshes, and bays. The region is idyllic, peaceful, and full of old-world charm. But for twenty-year-old Coral, who just wants to get to know her newly discovered father, Ralph, the area harbors secrets that threaten to tear their tenuous relationship apart.

Delia, the blue-haired hussy who works as a waitress at Ralph's restaurant appears to have her eyes on Coral' s boyfriend, Matt. Meanwhile, Sol, Matt's ne'er-do-well father who is driving in from Las Vegas, gets stranded in the Florida swamps and has a hungry alligator on his trail.

And 89-year-old Aunt Allie is tormented by a series of eerily prophetic dreams of white doves flying down Grandma Rosella's arms and out beyond her fingers. What else could the dreams mean but death?
