My book delves into my private life, from childhood to my senior years. It covers my young adult life of immersion into the "hippie" world of 1960s Berkeley, as well as how the counterculture values permeated throughout my life. It also describes my adventurous, mostly solo, travels around the world, as well as my numerous relationships, both lengthy and short, some of which have shaped my life. During the later part of the book, I speak extensively of my substance abuse and its fallout over a number of years.
The primary theme of the memoir includes my struggles to remain independent and free in an unfree world. The numerous examples of these endeavors make for both exciting and contemplative reading.
