Description

Ghost of 22 Mountain is the story of a woman who met death under mysterious circumstances when she was still young. The story is set in the mountains of West Virginia where the victim was born and lived. Of the dozens of people who might have committed the crime of murder, only one paid the price. He was a young black who served as handyman in the urban estate where Mamie Thurman lived with her husband, the policeman on the downtown beat of Logan, West Virginia.

It is not likely that Clarence Stephenson was the guilty party, even if he were involved in a most unlikely way in the disposition of the body of Mamie Thurman.

There were many others who could have killed the lovely Mamie, all of them members of the urban elite of the small West Virginia town. Mamie was a promiscuous flapper known to all of those who ran things in the town of Logan.
