In the world of wedding planning, timing is everything. For Paul and Evan, their timing couldn't be worse.

Wedding fever quickly engulfs the gay community, and their summer weekends fill up with increasingly over the top events. They orbit each other in reception halls, exchanging glances over appetizer stations and trading bland pleasantries by open bars. But their experiences as plus ones with other dates—including Paul's evening with a Tantric practitioner, and Evan's night with someone who possesses a macabre collection of ex-lover memorabilia—leave them unfulfilled and slightly bitter toward romance.

As the summer heat intensifies, however, so does their attraction. Yet somehow, they never manage to secure that elusive first date with each other. When autumn approaches and their best friends' wedding looms on the horizon, Paul and Evan face their final chance to turn their summer of "plus ones" into something that might last forever, if they can finally get their timing right.
