Description
Seventeen-year-old Eva is a chosen one. Chosen to live, while others meet a swift and painful death from an incurable virus so lethal, a person is dead within days of showing symptoms. She spends her days in the POD system, a series of underground habitats built by the government, as she waits with the other Chosen for the deadly virus to claim those above. The only balm for her broken soul is David, a fellow Chosen who helps to make survival worthwhile. After a year underground, scientists believe the remaining population has died off, and the virus along with it. However, when the PODs are opened and the Chosen reach the surface, they discover the vicious truth: the virus has mutated, turning all those infected into monsters. Will Eva and David escape the infected and achieve the future they dreamed of? Or will their fight for survival and prayers for a cure be in vain?
