English summary: Vengeance, anger and envy are negative emotions crucial to medieval literature and culture. They are social emotions with destructive as well as constructive potential, that is to say, they created and stabilized but also destroyed communities at that time. The contributors to this volume analyse the specific shape of these emotions and the multiple poetic functions they fulfill in courtly romances, comic tales and lyric poetry of the Middle Ages.
