Amidst the foreboding atmosphere of an impending hurricane, already dubbed the "Storm of the Century", Charlie learns of Crawford's return, raising concerns for his family's safety. Crawford threatens the lives not only the game wardens and their families, but a local deputy and judge as well.

To underscore his intent, Crawford has already planted multiple bombs in the area and left a personally cruel message by seriously injuring Charlie's dog at Charlie's home while he and Miranda were at work. He even left a taunting note on their kitchen table. This horrific act underscores his dangerous mindset and intentions for revenge.
