The Maids Tragedy is a Jacobean play written by Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher. The play reaches its climax when Evadne, unable to bear the guilt of her actions, poisons herself and the King. Aspatia also kills herself out of grief, while Melantius and Amintor are left to mourn the loss of their loved ones.
