Trust is tested, secrets simmer, and danger is never far behind
Following the stresses of the summer Carrie prepares to go on holiday only to find Keith (who has had a haircut but grown a rather long beard instead) tagging along after securing a cancellation to avoid babysitting Colin.
However, thirteen is unlucky for some, and if Carrie is hoping for a holiday romance, she is doomed for disappointment as Keith falls into the clutches of an older woman (but she only has herself to blame after urging him to mingle). Are they really having an affair or is there an innocent explanation for their association? Carrie worries that her friend is being used as a drugs' mule, only to become aware that she is the person who is being targeted. Or is it all just in her imagination?
Following several strange occurrences Carrie is left pondering just how many pairs of (brightly coloured) shorts Keith has packed, and why is there a man in black lurking by the swimming pool?
Another slow burning story set against the backdrop of a North African sun as Carrie tours Morocco, whilst her relationship with Keith mirrors the twists and turns of the medina, that keeps you guessing as it gently, and humorously, moves towards its climax as the end of their vacation nears.
