In turn, Borges' work has been a major influence for writers in English and other languages, as well as film makers among them Peter Carey, Nadine gordimer, Salman Rushdie, Umberto Eco, Italo Calvino, Michel Foucault, Jean Luc Godard, Peter Greenaway, and Bernardo Bertolucci.
