In church-theoretical individual case studies this book examines the recognition and the practice of current forms of church commitment. In addition, it presents selected practical suggestions on how church life can remain relevant for as many people as possible and which alternatives and additions could exist to the present church membership and church tax system.
Only if the church in the future consistently orients itself towards the individual forms of church commitment of the people, so the thesis of the book, will it be possible to secure the continuity of church life in Germany.
