As Katie battles against the forces of mortality, Beri faces his own personal struggles. Despite finally being with the woman he loves, he must fulfill his promises and navigate the treacherous political landscape or risk the loss of his newly acquired throne. To complicate matters further, Prince Glorian, heir to the Seelie Court, harbors a deep grudge against Katie and seeks revenge for his mother's execution. He not only desires her head but also wishes to plunge Avalon into another unwinnable war.
