Analyzing a vast archive, Natalie Lira reveals how political concerns over Mexican immigration--particularly ideas about the low intelligence, deviant sexuality, and inherent criminality of the "Mexican race"--shaped decisions regarding the treatment and reproductive future of Mexican-origin patients.
