Janelle spent the winter in Lucinda's house learning the spells necessary to create the Gingerbread House required by King Theodore. But the spells are only a part of it. Can she convincingly pretend to be Darla and leave her old tradition behind? Will the sorcerer sent with them realize that she too has sorcerous magic? And why create a Gingerbread house so far away from any village or town where it is little likely to be used? So many questions, but with so few answers Janelle can only learn her spells and see what will become of The Gingerbread House.
