The nation is well marked by the unmatched traditional costumes worn by different communities and tribes of several states. Each Indian region has its unique story to tell which is well reflected in its dresses. Indian has fame for people's diversity, their cultures, religions, caste systems and is a nation where till today, a person's identity is his costumes. Every community,caste,region,religion has its own way of draping a garment,a way of using specific colour and accessories.This difference has been prevailing since ancient times and has helped every group to establish and sustain its very own identity.The present work is focussed to take a glance at the traditional costumes of Indian tribe- rung at Dharchula, Uttarakhand state.
