Growing up in a poor neighborhood, I faced challenges that many would find unimaginable. My childhood was plagued by abuse, both physical and emotional, leaving scars that would take years to heal. Yet, amidst the darkness, I found a flicker of hope in an unexpected place-writing poetry. Each line I penned became a way to make sense of my experiences. Poetry wasn't just an outlet; it was my lifeline. Through words, I could express the pain and confusion that filled my young heart. I poured my soul onto the pages, turning my trauma into art. Writing lifted me, allowing me to escape the chaos and create a world where I had control. As I grew older, that passion for writing became intertwined with my desire to help others. I realized that my journey didn't end with my personal healing; it could lead me to a profession where I could make a difference in the lives of others. Now, I'm on my way to college to study psychology. My goal is to work with those who, like me, have faced overwhelming struggles. I want to give them the support and understanding that I yearned for during my toughest days. The road ahead won't always be easy, but I carry with me the strength that comes from surviving my past. I believe that by combining my love for poetry with my education in psychology, I can help others find their voices and healing. I'm excited for this next chapter in my life, where I'll learn not only about the human mind but also how to ignite hope in those who feel lost, just as I once did.
