Numerical simulations provide information on the characteristic fingerprints of the ejecta of massive and supermassive stars. The Comparisons with high-resolution observations of abundancies of the intergalactic medium in the early Universe, i.e. at high redshifts, allow us to conclude on the properties of the very first stars in the Universe.
