Uncharted Waters: Inspired by the Seemingly Impossible details Ann's personal journey through Minnesota and the Midwest: from a childhood fascination with challenge, to high school advice always to reach up, to collegiate honors in male-dominated majors and as one of the few student presenters at the first Earth Day, through law school and Law Review in a class that was only 6% female, and then to a coveted federal appellate clerkship among the first females to so serve. It is a journey of adrenaline, perseverance, and reinvention … a journey on Uncharted Waters that was motivated by a secondborn's desire to know "why", ability to adapt, and resolve for self-sufficiency. Strengthened by setbacks that motivated her to reach higher, she repeatedly witnessed, then pursued, the "seemingly impossible" – an empowering mindset that, along with good humor and wit, ultimately steered her through a multiplicity of firsts.
