Adventurous Wally A Bow, an Australian Aborigine, has lived all his life in the 'Outback' with his family and friends. Wally decides to leave this primitive existence, to fulfil a boyhood dream and head for 'The Big City' with his pet kangaroo. On his journey Wally meets Bruce a truck driver, who offers him a lift. Bruce is going to Sydney and they become friends. Wally lives with Bruce, who introduces him to the many changes of 21st Century life. The picture book shows in humorous colour illustrations and text, the challenges and comparisons of 'Outback' life, Wally faces during his stay. In short, how Wally has to adjust from primitive man to 21st Century man in a few weeks. The book is part educational, geographical, social and emotional, as the changes in Wally's life develop from day to day.
