A Midsummer Night's Dream is a mythical romantic comedy written by William Shakespeare. The story includes numerous sub-plots revolving around the main plot of the marriage Theseus and Hippolyta in Ancient Athens. The subplots are set in a enchanted forest populated by fairies who are pursuing their own interests and personal schemes. Shakespeare took inspiration from Ovid's 'Metamorphoses', and Chaucer's 'A Knight Tale' . The play has been adapted to musicals, ballets, television, and to film. A Midsummer Night's Dream remains one of Shakespeare's most popular work, and among the most widely preformed.
