English Summary: This volume is the result of more than 10 years' research in Persian culture from the Achaemenid period (559 B.C.) until the end of the Safavids' time (1722 A.D.). The main concern was finding out what the sources tell us about aromata (fragrances), how the fragrances were used in daily life and how they are reflected in Persian literature, especially in poetic language. German Description: Die vorliegende Arbeit ist das Ergebnis einer mehr als zehnjahrigen Untersuchung uber Aromata im iranischen Kulturkreis von der Achamenidenperiode (559 B.C.) bis zum Ende der Safawidenzeit (1722 A.D.). Das Hauptanliegen bestand darin, herauszufinden, was die Quellen uber Aromata berichten, wie Dufte im taglichen Leben verwendet wurden und wie diese in der persischen Literatur, insbesondere in der poetischen Sprache reflektiert sind.
