While Eli Vaughn lies in a coma-like sleep in his bedroom at Daylesford, across the portal in Ephemera, Nox Sylvain wakes up alone in his family's cottage. After his parents' outcasting, he must now follow on his father's steps and become a Silvares in Ephemera Sylua, with no one for company but the flock of griffendrakes that follow him everywhere.
