The consequence and influence of this interest has now led to an increasing demand to migrate from the traditional deterministic approach to a probabilistic-based approach, and it appears inevitable that reliability-based design and management approaches as well as certification requirements would become the way of the future to managing aerospace vehicle structures and systems. In this book, new approaches are developed to address the deficiencies in the current probabilistic fatigue and Damage tolerance methodologies as applied to aerospace problems.
