Hill was best known for his 1960s work and for his continued championing of bop and hard bop when his contemporaries were reaching for new forms. His appearance on the TV show 'Solos - The Jazz Sessions' occurred a few years before his death in 2007, and features live performances, interviews and behind the scenes footage.
