Mike Fentross en Andre Nieuwlaat brengen overtuigend bewijs dat er meer stukken van John Dowland, één van de grootste luitisten aller tijden, verborgen zitten in reeds bekende manuscripten dan men tot nu toe kon vermoeden. Door onderzoeksmethoden van de filologie en de archivistiek toe te passen op de overgeleverde luitbronnen is archivaris André Nieuwlaat erin geslaagd om duidelijkheid te brengen in de aard en herkomst van een groot aantal bronnen waarover tot nu toe weinig of niets met zekerheid bekend was. Mike Fentross zet het verhaal met klinkend bewijs kracht bij. Fentross: "De muzikale handtekening van Dowland is onmiskenbaar".
