A beautifully written story of a young girl who stands up to a manipulative father to choose love. Her mother stands up to him and supports her. I enjoyed the setting but I was blind sided by that twist. Wonderful story.

This novel is amazing and well written. Scarlett Rose is a young woman, trapped by her own parents who want her to be a good daughter - attend church, get good grades, keep away from guys... But as she sneaks out one night, she meets a guy who changes her life. A modern day Romeo and Juliet as their families have a feud and Scarlett's father pushes them apart. The one question that leaves you hanging is whether their love can survive her father, Pastor Joseph.

This is definitely my most favorite book by far.The author, Alice VL is an amazing story teller. From the start to finish you actually live the story... but....there is an amazing unexpected twist in this book. I never saw it coming until I got to a certain point and had to back track as I could not believe what I had just read. Very sneaky Alice VL .and I'm not going to give it away. You have to read it for yourself. I have no doubt that all would enjoy this book..
