He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
--Psalm 147:3
What is a Whipple, and why did it not whip Rob? Great questions to ask. The Whipple procedure is a major surgery that removes a large part of the upper digestive tract, including a portion of pancreas and duodenum (part of the small intestine). After going through the Whipple, instead of being whipped by his situation, Rob tries to seek healing and make sense of his life. He struggles with why this is happening to him and the physical pain he is going through. Through retrospect, what he finds is a deeper understanding of God. It is in his relationships throughout his life that he finds true healing, not just the physical healing he was looking for. It is this healing that Rob wants to share with everyone.
